This course provides students with a general understanding of the development of Chinese classical novels from Tang to Qing Dynasties. Students are required to read a wide range of representative well-known Chinese classical novels, with reference to their styles, characteristics, literary skills and their places in the development of Chinese fiction. Special attention will be given to critical appreciation of Chinese classical novels.
