The BA (Hons) in Economics and Finance programme is not intended to prepare its graduates for a specific career path. Nevertheless, the programme provides the relevant preparation for several professions including financier, banker, entrepreneur, merchandiser, statistician, journalist and civil servant in Hong Kong or in the Mainland. Graduates who are well versed in quantitative economics can start their career as research assistants in public or private sectors. They can become qualified senior form teachers at local secondary schools after studying a postgraduate Education Diploma or Certificate programme at local tertiary institutes. In addition to preparing students for graduate studies in Economics at local or overseas universities, the programme also equips graduates with sufficient knowledge to work towards an MBA degree, an MA/MSc degree in Finance and Banking, or for graduate studies in a broad spectrum of disciplines. |
