Aims and Objectives

The programme aims to produce graduates who can

1.

demonstrate deep knowledge and understanding of the mass communication process;

2.

plan and produce high quality productions for different forms of mass media;

3.

work independently and, on their own initiative, carry out day-to-day journalistic practices in Hong Kong and in China ;

4.

express themselves competently and appropriately in Chinese and English;

5.

provide a critical analysis of the existing forms and content of mass communication;

6.

understand the development and application of new media to the mass communications industry;

7.

design and carry out independent research in the areas of journalism and mass communication.

   
   
Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants* must:
1. have passed the HKCEE with at least six E grade subjects or above, including Chinese and
English; and
have passed Chinese Language and Culture and Use of English in the Hong Kong Advanced Supplementary Level ('AS' Level) Examination, plus passing at least one Advanced Level ('A' Level) subject in Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination in one sitting or equivalent;
2. Associate Degree Holders; or
3. have attained equivalent education standards from overseas countries.
* All candidates for admission will be interviewed as part of the selection process.
