Aim
The purpose of this programme is to facilitate the transfer of students from
Shue Yan University to the third year of the BA (Hons) in Money, Banking
& Finance programme at University of Stirling, UK. It is designed to
train students in modern economic analysis and its applications to Money,
Banking and Finance.

Structure
The syllabus of the first year of the cooperative programme is consistent with
the programme conducted at the University of Stirling and examination papers are
agreed jointly by the two institutions.

Students continue to take the core modules in Economics and Finance at Stirling:
Advanced Microeconomics;
Advanced Macroeconomics;
Economic Policy in Britain and Europe (or Using Economic Data);
Financial Management: Theory and Practice;
International Finance; and
Financial Analysis or Securities and Investment.
In addition, three advanced options are chosen from the following:
Money and Banking;
Domestic and International Banking;
Financial Economics;
Management Economics;
The Japanese Economy;
International Economics; or
Monetary Economics.

Attraction
1. Substantial savings are realized by undertaking one third of the complete course locally, stemming from lower tuitions and living expenses.
2. The degree is awarded by the University of Stirling and is identical in every respect to that resulting from their regular programme.
3. University of Stirling has instituted a scholarship of £3,000 per annum lasting for 2 years to the best student transferring from Shue Yan each Year.

Eligibility for Admission

1.

At least 6 passes including Chinese and English in one sitting in the HKCEE;
and |
|
2. |
At least 2 passes in the HK Advanced Level Examination;
or |
|
3. |
At least 2(A) and 3(O) in the GCE Examination; or |
|
4. |
Mature students aged 21 or above with a good command of English may also
apply, but
this category must pass the University Entrance Examination. |
Eligibility for Transfering to Stirling
|
1. |
Grade Point Average of 2.2 and a B grade in ECON 113, ECON 114, ECON 203, ECON 204 and ECON 243 in Shue Yan Examinations; |
|
2. |
English AS-level passed with grade E or IELTS 6 / TOEFL 550. |
