Concentrations (applies to 2018-19 Year 1 and Year 2 entrants)

 

Concentration in Literary and Cultural Studies (LCS)

Concentration Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs)

Upon completion of the Concentration in Literary and Cultural Studies, students should be able to:

  1. identify and analyze issues and topics in literary and cultural studies through various approaches including the interdisciplinary approach;
  2. formulate critical questions and investigate topics through research and writing;
  3. engage analytically with cutting edge literary and cultural studies concepts and theories;
  4. evaluate intellectual arguments in complex situation, thereby demonstrate sensitivity to context;
  5. articulate the interconnectedness of knowledge

Students have to complete any five of the following courses (at least two in each strand) in the upper division to declare a concentration:

Concentration in Linguistics and Translation Studies (LTS)

Concentration Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs)

Upon completion of the Concentration in Linguistics and Translation Studies, students should be able to:

  1. identity and analyze issues and topics in linguistics and translation studies through various approaches including the interdisciplinary approach;
  2. formulate critical questions and investigate topics through research and writing;
  3. conduct research independently using appropriate research methods;
  4. engage analytically with cutting edge translation and linguistics concepts and theories;
  5. articulate the interconnectedness of knowledge
