JOUR 160 Current Social Issues in Hong Kong (1 Term; 3 Credits) This course aims at introducing the study of the development of Hong Kong society from a sociological perspective. Through investigating arguments of sociologists on Hong Kong society, students can develop their critical thinking in analysing current social issues in Hong Kong. The course covers such areas as social stratification, popular culture, schooling, family, crime and deviance, social organizations, social movement, marginal groups and issues of identity in Hong Kong. |
