JOUR 280 Governing Hong Kong (1 Term; 3 Credits) This course aims at introducing politics and public administration as practised in Hong Kong and discussing major issues in these two areas. Topics like democratisation, Chief Executive and executive council, rule of law, political parties and elections, legislative council, district boards, civil service, political accountability, policy-making process, China factors, etc. will be discussed. At the end of this course, students are expected to be familiar with the political situation in Hong Kong, and become sensitive and critical to its political issues.
