JOUR 311 Communication Research Methods
  (pre-requisite: Soc. 200 Introduction to Statistics)

(1 Term; 3 Credits)

This course aims at introducing the basic ideas of conducting mass communication research. Course content covers the following areas: the philosophy and principles of research, approach of research design, methods of data collection, various ways of analysis, some communication research applications and research ethics. Students are expected to relate the importance of research to their future work and critically analyze and evaluate research data.
