The University has been recognized by the Hong Kong Government as an approved 4 year system tertiary institution. A holder of Diploma awarded by the University may take up appointment in the Civil Service and enter the pay scales as laid down by the Civil Service Bureau, Hong Kong Government Secretariat.

On 16 May, 2001 an official announcement was made that the University had been approved by the Chief Executive in Council to offer degree programmes. Since September 2001 the following Degree Programmes have been launched:

• Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Journalism and Mass Communication

• Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Accounting

• Bachelor of Social Work (Hons.)

• Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons.)

• Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons.) in Counselling & Psychology

• Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Economics and Finance

• Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in English

• Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons.) in Sociology

• Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in History

• Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Law and Business

• Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons.) in Psychology

There is a wide variety of cooperative courses. Among them 5 Bachelor and 11 Master programmes offered in collaboration with universities in China , UK , USA and Australia that facilitate students to study in these countries' universities.

The Honours Diploma awarded by our University has been regarded by most of the universities and professional associations in China , UK , USA , France and Australia as degree equivalent and our graduates are eligible to apply directly for admission to their post-graduate programmes and to gain exemptions for acquiring professional recognitions.

All of our teaching staff are highly educated, devoted and enthusiastic in teaching. The relationship between students and teaching staff is close and harmonious.

Part I of Programmes No. 1-5 will be taught in its entirety at Shue Yan University. Upon satisfactory completion of their studies, students will transfer into the Second Year of their respective degree courses in the United Kingdom or Australia . The above programmes are exempted courses under the Non-local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance. It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognise any qualifications to which these courses may lead.

樹仁學院是本港政府唯一認可之私立四年制高等學府，所頒榮譽文憑，亦早經銓敘等級，可任職政府各部門相當職位。

本校於二○○一年開始獲香港學術評審局評定頒授學位資格，並得行政長官會同行政會議認可批准，於二○○一年九月開始陸續開辦下列學士學位課程：

學系課程多元化，與英美中澳著名大學合作，開設多達5項學士及11項碩士課程，有利學生國內外升學、深造，或在本校進修已設之各合作碩士課程。
本校立足香港，面向國際，重視學術水準，已早獲中英美法澳各大學，及法律、會計等專業團體承認我校文憑等同學位，可直接升入中英美澳等大學研究院深造，進修碩士、博士學位，或參加專業考試時享有甚多豁免優待，有利取得專業資格。

上述１至５項學位課程之第一年均在樹仁修讀，由本校老師善加輔導，可奠立良好基礎及節省大量金錢。如在本校修讀成績達要求水準者，由本校保送直升入各該大學二年級，課程完全銜接，可於二年內完成，由各該大學頒授學位。以上５項合辦課程根據《非本地高等及專業教育（規管）條例》獲豁免註冊。個別僱主可酌情決定是否承認本課程可令學員獲取的任何資格。
