Part I Programme for Bachelor of Commerce

Aim

The purpose of this programme is to make more accessible to Hong Kong students the opportunity of higher education in Australia. It is designed for young people aspiring to the modern commercial field.

Course Structure

The Bachelor of Commerce programme is divided into 2 parts. Part I comprising 1 year's studies is conducted at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. Part II consisting of 2 years’ studies is conducted at the University of Wollongong, Australia.

Students who have achieved a Grade Point Average of 2.3 or above and a score of 213 in computer-based TOEFL or 6.0 in IELTS will be eligible to transfer to the second year of the programme at the University of Wollongong.

Part I Programme for Bachelor of Arts (English Language and Linguistics)

Aim

The purpose of this programme is to make more accessible to Hong Kong students the opportunity of higher education in Australia and to train students in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and education in linguistics which can be applied in careers in language teaching.

Course Structure

The BA (English Language and Linguistics) programme is divided into two parts. Part I comprising 1 year's studies is conducted at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. Part II consisting of 2 years’ studies is conducted at the University of Wollongong, Australia. The English Language and Linguistics (ELL) major provides two orientations: a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages) orientation that can lead to a professional qualification in TESOL and an English for Professional Purposes orientation.

Students who have achieved a GPA of 2.7 or above and a score of 213 in computer-based TOEFL or 6.0 in IELTS will be eligible to transfer to the second year of the programme at the University of Wollongong.

Course Structure

The B. A. (Hons) in Money, Banking & Finance programme is divided into 2 parts. Part I comprising 1 year's studies is conducted at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. Part II consisting of 2 years’ studies is conducted at the University of Sitrling, UK.

Students who have achieved a Grade Point Average of 2.2 or above, with a B in Mathematics for Economists, Economic Statistics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics and Money & Banking as well as a score of 550 in TOEFL, 6.0 in IELTS or an E in AS English, will be eligible to transfer to the third year of the programme at the University of Stirling.

Students who have achieved a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or above, with at least a B- in Basic Microeconomics, Basic Macroeconomics, Mathematics for Economists, Economic Statistics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics and Money & Banking, have obtained a score of 6.5 in IELTS, or a C in AS English, and will be eligible to transfer to the second year of the programme at the University of Leicester.
