Pre-Placement Exposure (PPE):
PPE helps to equip students with early exposure to social services and social work settings with a view of identifying their strengths and weaknesses as well as the suitability for studying the BSW programme. Besides, students are expected to reflect on what they have learned from this exposure and develop their own portfolio as well.
Number of hours:
100 hours in social service agencies with registered social worker posting.
Duration:
From 1st term of Year 2 to the end of March of the following year
Assignment:
A report in English with about 2000 words in type form shall be submitted to Year 2 Co-ordinator two weeks after the completion of the pre-placement exposure. Students should focus on their personal experience about this pre-placement exposure so as to explore the extent to which the service(s) meet with changing societal needs and make recommendations accordingly.
