 Hong Kong Shue Yan University mourns the passing of Tin Ka Ping, Honorary Doctor of Social Sciences

The Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Tin Ka Ping. A well-known industrialist and philanthropist, Dr. Tin was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Social Sciences by HKSYU in 2009. Widely respected for his lifelong endeavours in education and philanthropy, Dr Tin established the K.P. Tin Foundation in 1982 to support education development and infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China.

Dr. Fai-chung Hu, HKSYU’s Deputy President, said: “Dr. Tin’s devotion to philanthropy and contributions to education are well recognised. Many students have also benefited from his steadfast support for the development of HKSYU over the years. On behalf of all HKSYU staff, students and alumni, I wish to express our deep condolences to Dr. Tin’s family and pay our sincere respect to his contributions.”
