The University accepts applications from graduates of locally accredited Associate Degree or Higher Diploma programmes in relevant disciplines from institutions in Hong Kong for direct entry to Year 2 of selected Bachelor’s programmes. For details, please refer to “Programmes offered“.
Students who are admitted directly to Year 2 and have achieved a total GPA of 2.5 or above (out of a 4-point system) in their AD/HD studies will be awarded an entrance scholarship. An entrance scholarship of up to HK$69,300 for the first year of study at the University will be awarded to successful applicants on the basis of the total GPA score attained in the AD/HD programme. In academic year 2018/19, HKSYU is committed to awarding a total of HKD20 million. From the 2017/18 academic year, the Government provides a non-means-tested annual subsidy for eligible students pursuing full-time locally-accredited local and non-local self-financing undergraduate (including top-up degree) programmes in Hong Kong (save for those enrolled in places already supported under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors) offered by eligible institutions. All undergraduate programmes offered by Hong Kong Shue Yan University are eligible under the subsidy scheme. The University has signed articulation agreements with the Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) to facilitate credit transfer arrangements and consider the graduates of selected Associate Degree/Higher Diploma programmes for direct entry into Year 2 of related HKSYU Bachelor’s programmes since 2017. Priority application for applicants from selected AD/HD programmes in Partner Institutions will be available from 1 March 2018. For applicants from other locally accredited AD/HD programmes, early-bird application for admission of Direct Entry into Year 2 in academic year 2018-19 will be available from 8 March 2018.
