of the Research Complex, was funded by a $20m donation from the iFREE Group. The
University plans to increase interdisciplinary collaboration among departments in future in the
use of the new facilities.
In alignment with the vision of the University’s Strategic Plan 2021 – 2025 to reinvent
liberal arts education for the Digital Era, a new programme under the Department of Applied
Data Science, the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Data Science, was accredited by
HKCAAVQ in October 2021 for launch in September 2022. 1
