Department of Law and Business
Underpinning the Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Law and Business is the premise that
business activity is subject to increasing legal regulation, both domestic and international. The
international dimension is increasingly important, given the growth of Hong Kong as an
international business and financial centre and the emerging role of China in the world
economy.
In that regulated environment, the interface between law and business is of rising
importance, so that graduates with an understanding of both business and legal principles will
be able to make a significant contribution to efficient and effective business operations.
Against that background, the Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Law and Business
develops an understanding of core business and legal principles and at the same time develops
critical and analytical skills, so that graduates can operate effectively in an ever-changing
domestic and international business environment.
