                                  The University Library


              The  Shue  Yan  University  Library  Complex  is  located  on  the  west  side  of  the  main
          Academic Building and was opened on 15 November 1995. It is multi-functional and has 19
          storeys. Facilities include the International Conference Hall, the Library, the Counselling and
          Research Centre, academic staff offices and accommodations for staff and visiting scholars.
          The Library occupies 5½   levels (the ground floor, second to sixth floor). Each floor covers
          about 850 square metres.

              The ever-expanding Library collection has over 2 million items. The electronic collection
          includes 1.3 million e-book titles, 141,000 e-journal titles, as well as other electronic reference
          tools,  news,  and  online  videos.  Those  e-resources  are  distributed  across  161  database
          subscriptions,  including  ACM  Digital  Library,  APA  Psychology  databases,  BrowZine,
          EBSCOHost  databases,  Films  on  Demand,  Gale  Reference  Complete,  HyRead  ebooks,
          JSTOR, Lexis Advance Hong  Kong, Oxford  English  Dictionary, Oxford Scholarship Online,
          PressReader, Project MUSE, ProQuest Central, WiseNews,  中國期刊全文數據庫,  文淵閣四
          庫全書,  中國博士學位論文全文數據庫,  中國優秀碩士學位論文全文數據庫,  四部叢刊電子版,
          超星中文電子書庫,  華藝電子書, and  瀚堂典藏古籍數據庫, among others. Bloomberg Terminal
          and Refinitiv Eikon workstations are located on the Library 3/F to provide the latest financial
          information. Scopus is a multi-disciplinary, bibliographic database that indexes the content of
          peer-reviewed journals. EndNote and RefWorks are citation management platforms available
          for staff and students to manage their citations in assignments and researches. The physical
          collection  consists  of  over  350,000  volumes,  including  books,  references,  annual  reports,
          research reports, dissertations, student reports, 33,000 bound journal volumes, and 21,000
          non-print items.

              The  above-mentioned  resources  are  searchable  via  the  library  resources  discovery
          platform,  Discover@ShueYan,  and  most  e-resources  can  be  accessed  via  the  platform  on
          campus or remotely, and on desktop or mobile devices.

              The Library partners with other local or overseas academic libraries to provide interlibrary
          loans and document delivery services. The reader’s cards to other academic libraries expand
          the accessibility of Library users to academic resources via physical visits to the libraries. The
          Library  also  organizes  user  educational  activities  such  as  library  instruction  classes,
          orientation, information days, and book exhibitions, among others. The Institutional Repository
          preserves and disseminates research outputs of the University to capture the intellectual vitality
          of  scholars  and  facilitate  scholarly  communication.  The  University  Archives  collects  the
          valuable memory and assets of Shue Yan's history.

              It is noteworthy that in January 1996, the then State Education Commission of China
          donated  to  Shue  Yan  3,097  volumes  (1,793  titles)  of  rare  Chinese  books,  thus  making  a
