SW 460 Addressing Gender and Sexuality in Social Work Practice
                                                                            1 Term; 2 Credits

SW 461 Integrative Practice Seminar III
                                                                            1 Term; 2 Credits
The objective of this course is to provide social work students with advanced, generic
skills that can be applied to their field placements. The course is taught in conjunction with the
students’ third concurrent field placement, which takes place following the second summer
block placement. The aim of the course is to enable students to integrate their prior two years
of learning with real-world practices, allowing them to address more complex social issues with
greater confidence and competence. The course will focus on developing students’ advanced
social work practices through a practice of multi-levels of intervention for an issue/problem.
Through roleplay, practice demonstration, interactive discussion, and idea sharing, students
are encouraged to reflect on and learn from their practicum experience. By the end of the
course, students are expected to be able to select appropriate practice concepts from major
social work theories to design accurate intervention strategies.
