          definition and refinement of ethical issues are seen as an ongoing process that necessitates
          an open and self-critical attitude. Various codes of conduct published by local and overseas
          professional  bodies  will  be  compared,  discussed  and  applied.  The  course  also  provides
          opportunities for students to apply ethical decision-making models in case studies.

          COUN 340    Advanced Skills in Group Facilitation
                                                                            1 Term; 3 Credits
              This course is designed to help students plan psychoeducational groups and develop
          facilitation techniques in group work. With the aim of fostering a comprehensive understanding
          of group dynamics, this course encourage students to integrate their personal experiences as
          group members with the development of effective group leadership skills. Emphasizing self-
          reflection,  self-awareness,  and  a  deep  understanding  of  group  processes,  students  are
          challenged  to  enhance  their  knowledge  and  skills  in  this  domain.  The  course  provides  an
          overview of the group process, covering essential topics such as stages of group development,
          ethical and professional issues. Furthermore, apart from in-class practice of group facilitation
          techniques, students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills by engaging
          in a practical exercise of writing a comprehensive group proposal tailored to their specific target
          group participants. This exercise will allow students to demonstrate their understanding of the
          course  concepts  and  apply  them  in  a  real-world  context,  further  enhancing  their  ability  to
          effectively plan and implement group counselling interventions.

          COUN 350    Child Counselling
                                                                            1 Term; 3 Credits
              This  course  aims  to  provide  students  with  essential  counselling  knowledge  and  skills
          required to work effectively with children aged 11 or below. By focusing on the psychological
          aspects of various developmental stages, this course aims to equip students with practical
          counselling techniques and abilities to support children both individually and in group settings.
          The course also aims to enhance students’ clinical and ethical sensitivity when working with
          child  clients.  Course  objectives  encompass  identifying  developmental  issues  and  needs
          specific to children, evaluating major theoretical approaches in child counselling, and utilizing
          a  diverse  range  of  tools  such  as  sand  tray,  art,  puppetry,  clay,  storytelling  to  aid  in  the
          counselling process. In addition, students will have the opportunity to apply their acquired skills
          through hands-on experience in practical case conceptualization exercises of child interaction
          observation and designing group activities for children.

          COUN 360    Adolescent Counselling
                                                                            1 Term; 3 Credits
              Counselling adolescents is different from counselling adults. This course aims to acquaint
          students with knowledge of theoretical and practical issues in working with adolescents. It will
          facilitate the students to examine concepts from different theories in working with adolescents.
          Areas  of  concern  such  as  the  biological  development,  personality  development,  identity
          formation and social challenges faced by the adolescent are addressed. Different theories,
