BUS 305 Operations Management
1 Term; 3 Credits
This course aims to provide students with basic concepts and principles of operations
management. The course will highlight the role of operations management in both service and
manufacturing industries, and how it plays in today’s global business world. Through the
illustration of the current issues in the business fields related to operations management,
students will be able to apply what they learn in reality.
BUS 306 Supply Chain Management
1 Term; 3 Credits
This course aims to provide students with a clear, well-structured and comprehensive
understanding of basic concepts and principles of supply chain management. The course will
highlight the very important role of supply chain management in creating and maximizing
customer values, and the role it plays in today’s global business world. Besides, this course
also stresses the benefits and challenges in designing supply chain, constructing global
network and coordinating supply chain. Realistic examples and practices will be used
extensively throughout the course to illustrate the application of related concepts and
principles.
BUS 307 Management Information Systems
1 Term; 3 Credits
This course is designed to provide students with a real-world understanding of information
systems for business with an emphasis on strategic use of information technology, web-
enabled commerce, decision support and business intelligence, and systems planning and
development.
BUS 308 Financial Management
1 Term; 3 Credits
This course will introduce the basic concepts and skills of financial analysis to students.
It evaluates the impact of financial decisions on company performance. Besides, financial
management strategies will be discussed. In essence, this course puts emphasis on the
application of concepts to problems and relies heavily on numeric calculations.
BUS 309 Human Resource Management
1 Term; 3 Credits
This aim of this course is to provide students with a basic framework of personnel
management concepts and techniques focused on the functions and activities of personnel
managers. Students are then able to critically evaluate personnel management techniques and
become problem solvers in the personnel area. They are also capable of undertaking self-
appraisal as managers and appraisal of personnel practices of the organization as a whole.
