Hangzhou CPPCC National Day Gala with HKSYU Students Ignites Education Trends

Professor Chan Ching, HKSYU Academic Vice President, along with over 20 staff members and students, attended the National Day Gala hosted by Hangzhou CPPCC, where they exchanged insights on emerging trends in teaching and learning.

Sponsored by the Hong Kong Hangzhou CPPCC Friendship Association, a group of 30 students from the Departments of Sociology, Business Administration, and Economics and Finance, took part in a Digital Humanities exchange tour to Hangzhou last May.

Over five days, students had the privilege of visiting numerous notable sites, enterprises, and academic institutions, thanks to the support of Hangzhou CPPCC’s Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Foreign Affairs.

The tour was led by Professor Chan, who engaged with officials and representatives from government bodies and universities, and explored future opportunities for collaboration in the areas of digital technology and the humanities between HKSYU and other institutions.

As one of the supporting institutions of Cyberport’s annual signature event, the Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum 2025 (DELF 2025), Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) showcased a series of innovative teaching and learning outcomes. These interactive projects emphasized creativity and technology, enabling visitors to experience new applications of digital innovation pioneered by Hong Kong’s first private university.

HKSYU Opening Ceremony Welcomes Over a Thousand Freshmen

HKSYU held its Opening Ceremony on August 26 at Lady Lily Shaw Hall. The event was attended by Dr Hu Fai-chung, Acting President; Professor Sun Tien-lun, Senior Vice President; Professor Selina Chan, Academic Vice President; Dr Jason Chow, Vice President (University Administration); along with other senior management members, department heads, faculty members, and administrative leaders. Over a thousand freshmen also attended, marking the beginning of their academic journey at HKSYU.

IAO Launches 'Pathways to Success' Alumni Panel on Teaching Careers with Chinese, English, and History Departments

The Industrial Attachment Office (IAO) at HKSYU debuted the event “Pathways to Success: Alumni Perspectives on Teaching Careers” in collaboration with the Departments of Chinese, English, and History, welcoming alumni from the three departments—now working as teachers—to return to campus and share their experiences. Their insights helped HKSYU students interested in the education sector better understand the Education Concentration.
