Financial Subsidies and Assistance
The University provides support to students with financial difficulties so that they can concentrate on their studies. Aside from government financial subsidy and assistance schemes,the University also provides its own Shue Yan University Financial Assistance Scheme covering tuition remission, bursaries, hall bursaries, interest-free loans and emergency assistance to help students in need.
Government Subsidy Schemes for full time local undergraduate students

Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme (NMTSS) for eligible students enrolled in self-financing first-year-first-degree programmes or top-up degree programmes.

Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) (Local students taking the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Financial Technology can apply)
Government Financial Assistance Schemes for full time local undergraduate and postgraduate students
The Hong Kong SAR Government provides the following financial aid schemes to local undergraduate students:
- Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP)
- Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS)
- Student Travel Subsidy for Tertiary or Post-secondary Students (STS)

HKSYU Financial Assistance and Studentship Schemes for undergraduate and postgraduate students
The University's Financial Assistance Scheme is set up to assist students at economic disadvantages to release their financial burdens, with the hope that they can complete their studies and give back to the society. HKSYU offers a number of financial assistance schemes including:
- Bursary / Tuition remission
- Hall Bursary
- Emergency Assistance
