
The Education Bureau (EDB) has approved two projects under the “2024/25 Enhancement and Start-up Grant Scheme for Self-financing Post-secondary Education,” with a total allocation of approximately HK$48 million. The projects target the aviation services and surveying sectors, addressing the urgent demands for skilled talent in these fields.
Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) has been granted over HK$25 million to establish an “Applied Degree in Surveying and Dispute Resolution”. The university expressed its commitment to developing more programmes that meet societal needs.
Professor Leung Hing-fung, Head of Department of Law and Business at HKSYU, stated that the university will work closely with relevant authorities to ensure effective use of the funding and the smooth rollout of the programme. Scheduled for launch in September 2027, the “Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Surveying and Dispute Resolution” (BSc-SDR) is designed to meet industry demand for professionals with expertise in digital tools and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
