The University received nearly 6 million in funding from the University Grants Committee for nine research projects.

Hong Kong Shue Yan University has been granted more than HKD 5.95 million in funding by the University Grants Committee (UGC) to carry out nine research projects. The related funding was allocated through the UGC's "Competitive Research Funding Schemes for the Local Self-financing Degree Sector 2023/2024". The nine funded research projects include three from the Department of Journalism and Communication, and three from the Department of Counselling and Psychology. Additionally, the Department of History, Department of English, and Department of Business Administration each have scholars whose projects have successfully obtained funding.
 
Among the nine funded research projects, six belong to the Faculty Development Scheme (FDS), while three belong to the Inter-Institutional Development Scheme (IIDS). 

In the category of Faculty Development Scheme, there are in total of 72 approved projects, and Hong Kong Shue Yan University accounts for six of them. The funding received by Shue Yan University ranges from HKD 310,000 to HKD 960,000, with project durations ranging from 18 months to two years. In the category of Inter-Institutional Development Scheme, there are in total of eight approved projects, with three of them coming from Hong Kong Shue Yan University. The funding received by Shue Yan University ranges from HKD 410,000 to HKD 560,000, with a project duration of one year.
