Hong Kong Shue Yan University organized a remarkable seminar on Jan 21, 2025 titled "Home and School Partnership: Promoting Care and Inclusion." Our aim was to foster closer collaboration between families and schools in creating a caring and inclusive environment for our students. Several esteemed speakers, such as Ms Chan Man-yi, a former actress and now a life coach, Ms Yan Kin-foon, the Principal of Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary School, and Ms Sung Yee-ki from Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School (West Kowloon) captivated the audience with their valuable knowledge and experiences. The seminar attracted around 110 educators, including primary and secondary school teachers, who were eager to learn and contribute to the discussion. Dr Jason Chow, Vice President (University Administration), and Professor Hue Ming-tak from the Department of Counselling and Psychology delivered the opening and welcoming speeches. Ms Chan Man-yi emphasized that parents might make mistakes when raising their children, they also grow through the process. HKSYU believes that we can create a healthy and inclusive school environment that brings light to the society.
