HKSYU Launches First Esports Tournament

To enrich students’ campus life and foster interaction across departments, the “1st Esports Tournament — VALORANT”, co-organised by the Department of Applied Data Science and the Applied Data Science Society, was successfully held at the Game Development Laboratory.

 

The event was a spectacular success, uniting students from all 12 departments of HKSYU. A total of 30 esports enthusiasts formed six elite cross-departmental teams, competing with passion and skill throughout the tournament.

 

After preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and the grand finale, the championship title was claimed by the team comprising Huang Yaonan and Zhou Xuanye from the Department of Counselling and Psychology, together with Yu Bo, Jin Junxi, and Zhen Mingqian from the Department of Economics and Finance. Their outstanding teamwork and competitive spirit set them apart as the ultimate winners of this inaugural tournament.
