HKSYU Signs MoU with Cyberport to Strengthen Innovation and Technology Talent Development

Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cyberport. The collaboration will focus on artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and emerging technologies to encourage tertiary students to participate in project-based initiatives, company visits, internships, and employment opportunities, thereby strengthening innovation and technology talent development.

Professor SUN Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, and Mr Simon CHAN, Chairman of Cyberport, together with Professor Catherine SUN Tien-lun, Senior Vice President of HKSYU, witnessed the signing of the document by Dr Jason CHOW Tak-sang, Vice President (University Administration) of HKSYU, and Dr Rocky CHENG, Chief Executive Officer of Cyberport.

HKSYU Seminar on Mental Health and Well-being

The Department of Counselling and Psychology at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) hosted the “Mental Health Day: The Healing Power of Chatting” seminar and workshops on 17 July 2026. Experts from education, social welfare, psychology, and sports gathered to explore approaches to mental health and stress relief, while equipping front-line educators with strategies to foster an inclusive campus environment. Ms Lee San-san, former Miss Hong Kong, was invited as the keynote speaker. Drawing on her personal battle with panic disorder, she shares how she overcame life’s darkest moments.

HKSYU Sees 15% Rise in Applications After DSE

Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) has commenced its first round of registration following the release of the DSE results. By noon, HKSYU received over 13,000 applications, submitted either in person or via its online platform — representing a 15% year-on-year increase. Among the most popular departments were Social Work, Business Administration, and Journalism and Communication.

HKSYU Economics and Finance Student Awarded “For Our Future Scholarship”

In order to recognise and encourage local university students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance with diverse talents and a strong dedication to community service, the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation hosted the annual “For Our Future Scholarship” on 28 April 2026.
