Two elite athletes from HKSYU, YIP Wing Yan and CHONG See Yeung, have been selected for the Hong Kong delegation in the “Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games” (hereinafter referred to as “Chengdu2021 World University Games”). YIP Wing Yan represented the Taekwondo team in the Poomsae event, while CHONG See Yeung represented the Athletics team in the Half Marathon event.

On 13 July 2023, a flag presentation ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the “Chengdu2021 World University Games” was held at HKU Loke Yew Hall. Prof. CHEUNG Siu-Keung, Vice President (University Administration), and Ms. YIP Sau Yin, Associate Vice President (Student Affairs) of HKSYU Management, attended to support the Hong Kong delegation and cheer for the two selected SYU athletes.

香港樹仁大學兩位精英運動員葉潁欣和莊司暘，入選「成都世界大學生運動會」（下稱「成都世大運」）香港代表隊。葉潁欣代表跆拳道隊出戰品勢項目，莊司暘則代表田徑隊參加半程馬拉松項目。

7月13日，「成都世大運」中國香港代表團授旗禮於香港大學陸佑堂舉行，本校管理層行政副校長張少強教授及協理副校長(學生事務)葉秀燕女士齊齊出席支持香港代表團，並為兩位仁大入選運動員打氣。

「成都世大運」於今年7 月2 8 日至8 月8 日在中國成都舉行。今次香港派出205人代表團，當中142名運動員分別出戰12個體育項目，包括田徑、羽毛球、劍擊、游泳、乒乓球、跆拳道、網球、男子排球、女子排球、射箭、體操及武術。

當日出席授旗禮的嘉賓，包括文化體育及旅遊局局長楊潤雄先生、中央政府駐港聯絡辦宣傳文體部副部長孫兆敏先生、宣傳文體部處長朱劍平先生、文化體育及旅遊局署理體育專員鄭青雲先生、康樂及文化事務署副署長( 康樂事務) 徐曉露女士、港協暨奧委會副會長余國樑先生、義務副秘書長黃寶基先生及香港體育學院署理院長蔡玉坤先生等 。

而在一眾嘉賓的見證下，主禮嘉賓楊潤雄先生將香港特別行政區區旗授予中國香港代表團，並由中國香港大專體育協會名譽會長陳偉能先生、中國香港大專體育協會會長代表高永雄教授、中國香港大專體育協會董事局主席兼代表團團長麥美珠女士、劍擊運動員吳諾弘及網球運動員王康怡代表接受。

Chengdu World University Games Half-Marathon Athlete HKSYU Graduate CHONG See Yeung: Competition Goes Beyond Winning or Losing

CHONG See Yeung, a graduate of the Department of Counselling and Psychology of HKSYU, represented the Hong Kong delegation in the Men’s Half Marathon event at the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. He finished 31st in 1 hour, 13 minutes, and 43 seconds.

CHONG See Yeung said that although he was unreconciled that the results were not as ideal, he felt a different experience when he calmed down. He realized that the experience had gone beyond the results and the lessons learned from the experience were invaluable.

仁大輔心系畢業生莊司暘代表港隊，今年出戰成都舉行的世界大學生運動會（下稱「成都世大運」）男子半程馬拉松賽事，結果以1小時13分43秒完成，排第31名。

莊司暘表示，雖然賽果未如理想，當刻亦感到不甘心，但冷靜下來卻感受到另一番的體會；他發現今次的經歷已超越競技比賽的成敗得失，當中汲取的經驗實屬難能可貴。

「自認為賽前的準備頗為充足，而比賽時為貼近前列選手，更不惜稍微用力多點，但直至15、16公里，自覺身體越來越沉重，要靠用意志力跑下去。衝線前百多米的記憶也相當模糊，只知自己神志不清、渾身乏力，及後亦被診斷中暑及脫水。」

雖然莊司暘遺憾自己未能做出滿意成績，但他回想由最初入選成為「成都世大運」的代表隊時的興奮，到之後的連串經歷，例如賽前練習、見識選手村、比賽中的考驗，甚至賽後所感受到的震撼和感慨心情，這些點點滴滴都成為了他生命中的寶貴經驗，和重要提醒。

今年「成都世大運」男子半程馬拉松在成都雙流機場西面的雙流區舉行，賽道圍繞中心公園及鳳翔湖公園，運動員需要在兩個公園跑四圈合共21公里，賽事共有35人參加。
 

Chengdu World University Games Taekwondo Poomsae Athlete HKSYU Graduate YIP Wing Yan: A Fulfilling and Unforgettable Experience

YIP Wing Yan, a graduate of the Department of Counselling and Psychology of HKSYU, represented the Hong Kong delegation at the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. She finished 6th in the Taekwondo Women’s Team Poomsae event.

YIP Wing Yan said that achieving sixth place in a competition filled with such talented athletes was not only moving but also exciting. She continued to say that although the preparation time was relatively short, it was a fulfilling and unforgettable experience. For example, she and her teammates worked hard to build rapport in a short time, finding their own rhythm and performance style.

仁大輔心系畢業生葉潁欣，代表港隊出戰今年在成都舉行的世界大學生運動會（下稱「成都世大運」)，她在跆拳道女子團體品勢項目中，獲得第六名。

葉潁欣表示，自己在這個高手如雲的大賽中取得第六名， 不但感動， 且非常興奮；她續指， 雖然備戰的日子不算長，但卻過得既充實又難忘。例如她和隊友一起努力在短時間內培養默契，尋找屬於她們的節奏及表現方式。

葉潁欣又對自己在比賽中能有穩定的發揮，展現出努力的成果，感到非常開心。她續指，很榮幸可以參與「成都世大運」，同時感謝所有支持她的教練、學校、工作人員及職員。
