Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) is hosting the “International Conference on Human Resilience: Navigating Life Changes & Challenges” on campus from 28–30 May 2026, with leading scholars exploring resilience through research-based and interdisciplinary perspectives.

In her opening address, Professor Sun Tien-lun, Senior Vice President, highlighted that the conference stemmed from a three-year interdisciplinary study titled “Human Resilience, Life Adversity, and Adaptation to Life Course Transitions from Early Adulthood to Late Middle Adulthood”. The project, led by Professor Tang So-kum, Distinguished Professor of Research in the Department of Counselling and Psychology, unites psychologists, sociologists, neuroscientists, public health specialists, data scientists, and policy scholars to examine the diverse factors that enable individuals to adapt during critical life transitions.

Professor Sun emphasised that HKSYU remains committed to expanding its research capacity and strengthening interdisciplinary scholarship through meaningful funding and collaborative partnerships.
