2025-05-26

HKSYU hosted the kick-off ceremony for the “Jockey Club Playful Minds Social Emotional Learning Programme”—Hong Kong’s first programme designed for Primary Three and Four students to promote social-emotional education through gamification. Over 200 representatives from the education sector and schools attended the event.

Co-organized by HKSYU and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the programme incorporates a gamified learning model, providing social and emotional learning lessons for participating students. These “Emotion Trainees” learn to possess five core social-emotional competencies: self-awareness, self-management, relationship skills, social awareness, and responsible decision-making.

Professor Sun Tien-lun, HKSYU Senior Vice President, expressed gratitude to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for their generous HK$27.36 million donation. She highlighted that the programme aims to enhance children’s emotional regulation and create a supportive social environment where children’s voices are both understood and heard. She also encouraged adults to act as “Emotional Managers” for children, guiding them to better understand emotions and grow up healthily.
