Dr TH Koo and Mrs Dorothy Koo donated 30 millions for the University plaza renovation
Hong Kong Shue Yan University's 35th Anniversary Plaza has been renamed to Mrs Dorothy Koo and Dr Ti Hua Koo Plaza. Prof. Catherine Sun, Senior Vice President expressed gratitude on behalf of the University to the donors Dr Ti Hua Koo and Mrs Dorothy Koo, for their generous donation of 30 million dollars to refurbish the plaza. The plaza is equipped with advanced audio-visual equipment and provides a wider space for students to engage in digital art and cultural activities, such as concerts, drama performances, plays, and even virtual reality games.

In the 16th edition of the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2024, 856 institutions are showcased from 25 countries and territories. Hong Kong has ten subsidised and private universities on the list, with Hong Kong Shue Yan University ranking 351-400, making it the highest-ranked private university in Hong Kong. Peking University continues to maintain its position as the top university in Asia, while the University of Hong Kong has risen two places to rank second, surpassing the National University of Singapore and Tsinghua University.
