HKSYU Seminar on Mental Health and Well-being

The Department of Counselling and Psychology at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) hosted the “Mental Health Day: The Healing Power of Chatting” seminar and workshops on 17 July 2026. Experts from education, social welfare, psychology, and sports gathered to explore approaches to mental health and stress relief, while equipping front-line educators with strategies to foster an inclusive campus environment. Ms Lee San-san, former Miss Hong Kong, was invited as the keynote speaker. Drawing on her personal battle with panic disorder, she shares how she overcame life’s darkest moments.

HKSYU Sees 15% Rise in Applications After DSE

Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) has commenced its first round of registration following the release of the DSE results. By noon, HKSYU received over 13,000 applications, submitted either in person or via its online platform — representing a 15% year-on-year increase. Among the most popular departments were Social Work, Business Administration, and Journalism and Communication.

55th Anniversary Community Service Project: Sociology Department Introduces “Digital Heritage in a New Dimension”

Partnering with the HKPC Academy under the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the department hosted a one-hour workshop titled “Preserving Memory in ‘3D’: Digital Heritage in a New Dimension” during the annual EdTech event, “Summer TechEd Fest 2026.”

Partnering with the HKPC Academy under the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the department hosted a one-hour workshop titled “Customised AI Assistance for Smart Learning” during the annual EdTech event, “Summer TechEd Fest 2026.” The workshop drew nearly 20 parents and primary school students.

HKSYU Athletes’ Guizhou Tour Highlights Victory and Friendship

Organised by the Office of Student Affairs of Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) and supported by HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Exchange in the Mainland, the “Guizhou Sports and Cultural Exchange Tour” took place from 24 to 28 June. As the University’s first sports-themed exchange initiative, it brought together 31 student-athletes from the men’s football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball teams, marking a new chapter in youth sports exchange between Hong Kong and Guizhou.

The latest episode of RTHK’s television programme 《夢想中華人物誌》, titled “Cultivating Virtue and Benevolence — Hu Hung-lick” (《樹德立仁—胡鴻烈》), chronicles the remarkable life and legacy of Dr Henry Hu Hung-lick, Founding President of Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU). The episode explores how Dr Hu pioneered a new path for higher education in Hong Kong, expanding access to tertiary education and creating greater opportunities for generations of young people. His unwavering commitment to education has established an enduring legacy that has inspired the community for more than half a century.
