HKSYU Secures HK$25 Million Grant to Launch Surveying and Dispute Resolution Degree
The Education Bureau (EDB) has approved two projects under the “2024/25 Enhancement and Start-up Grant Scheme for Self-financing Post-secondary Education,” with a total allocation of approximately HK$48 million. The projects target the aviation services and surveying sectors, addressing the urgent demands for skilled talent in these fields.
HKSYU Holds New Year’s Day Flag Raising Ceremony
Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) held its 2026 New Year’s Day Flag Raising Ceremony on campus. The ceremony was attended by Professor Danny Wong Shek-nam, Chairman of HKSYU’s University Council; Dr Michael Wu Chun-wah, Member of University Council; Dr Hu Fai-chung, Acting President; Professor Catherine Sun Tien-lun, Senior Vice President; together with members of the senior management team.
HKSYU Scholars Explore AI Innovation at Huawei Headquarters
Professor Selina Chan Ching, HKSYU Academic Vice President, and Professor Hui Yew-foong, Vice President (Accreditation and Programme Development), led a group of 15 representatives from various departments and Computing Services Centre to Huawei’s Shenzhen headquarters for an exchange visit on 17 December 2025. The visit focused on exploring the latest developments in smart campus technologies and artificial intelligence.

The Office of Student Affairs at Hong Kong Shue Yan University hosted the Opening Ceremony of Mentorship Programme 2025/26, bringing together alumni mentors and students to explore career pathways and professional development.
HKSYU launches children psychological support hotline with Save the Children Hong Kong
To help children and parents emerge from the shadow of Tai Po fire tragedy, counselling psychologists from the Department of Counselling and Psychology at Hong Kong Shue Yan University have partnered with Save the Children Hong Kong to operate the Save the Children Hong Kong’s Child Psychological Support Hotline. The hotline will run daily from 9 am to 9 pm for three months (mid-December to mid-March next year) and can be reached at 3859 2625.
HKSYU Receives QESS Funding to Build New Industrial Attachment Platform
Hong Kong Shue Yan University has received grants totalling nearly HK$4.9 million from the Education Bureau’s Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) to develop a one-stop cloud-based resource platform for industrial attachment (OCRPIA). This platform will consolidate internship and employment resources across academic and administrative departments, along with student portfolios, to enhance collaboration with external partners and strengthen students’ work-readiness and employability.
