Hong Kong Shue Yan University has received funding from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to launch a project focused on enhancing social and emotional learning for primary school students. The project titled "Emotion World: Enhancing Middle Primary School Students’ Emotional Competence Via a Holistic, Integrative, Gamified Platform," aims to address the need for emotional competence development among primary school students through a combination of online and offline counseling, capacity-building workshops, and digital games that support deep learning of emotional skills. Hong Kong Shue Yan University's 35th Anniversary Plaza has been renamed to Mrs Dorothy Koo and Dr Ti Hua Koo Plaza. Prof. Catherine Sun, Senior Vice President expressed gratitude on behalf of the University to the donors Dr Ti Hua Koo and Mrs Dorothy Koo, for their generous donation of 30 million dollars to refurbish the plaza. The plaza is equipped with advanced audio-visual equipment and provides a wider space for students to engage in digital art and cultural activities, such as concerts, drama performances, plays, and even virtual reality games.
