Celebrating Local Culture Through Art Tech
Funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission, organised by the Hong Kong Wuyi Association, and co-organised by Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU), the “3rd Art Tech Innovation Event” was held on HKSYU campus from 12 to 16 August. Rooted in local cultural traditions, the event offered workshops, competitions, exhibitions, interactive zones, and talks, inspiring young people to engage with Art Tech while strengthening their connection to and identification with local culture.
12 HKSYU Students Receive HSBC Scholarships
Twelve outstanding students from Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) have been awarded HSBC Scholarships in recognition of their academic excellence and active involvement in community service. Several awardees attended the HSBC Scholars Day 2026 to celebrate their achievements alongside fellow scholars and to receive this recognition.
Exploring Forensic Psychology – Insights from Scholars and Practitioners
The Department of Counselling and Psychology at HKSYU hosted a seminar titled “Forensic Psychology: Research & Application” on campus on 13 August. Focusing on the criminal justice system, behavioural analysis, and psychoanalysis, the event featured several distinguished psychology scholars as guest speakers. Attendees included Dr Hu Fai-chung, HKSYU President; Professor Sun Tien-lun, Senior Vice President; Mr Yip Wan-lung, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations); as well as scholars from the Department of Counselling and Psychology.
Celebrating 55th Anniversary: Seniors Embrace E‑Sports
More than 30 seniors visited the campus of Hong Kong Shue Yan University on 7 July to participate in a public lecture titled “Beyond Entertainment: Extended Reality and Our New Digital Life” and a mini e-sports competition organised by the Department of Applied Data Science. The event provided participants a lively introduction to the digital world.
HKSYU Volunteers Advancing Pet Inclusivity
On 13 July 2026, the “Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) Service Stars” Volunteer Team and the Department of Counselling and Psychology—working in collaboration with Social Career and the Hong Kong Saving Cat and Dog Association (HKSCDA)—organised a Kennel Cleaning Day. Around 50 volunteers, interns, and faculty members took part in the event, which sought to put the concept of “Pet Inclusivity” into practice through kennel cleaning and positive dog training.
Alumnus Trevor Lee Embodies the Spirit of Giving Back
Trevor Lee, an alumnus of the Department of Journalism and Communication at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU), graduated in 2013 and has since built a distinguished career in the television news industry. Over the past decade, he has served as a reporter, news anchor, and host of public affairs programmes. Inspired by the selfless dedication of the University’s late founders, Dr Henry Hu Hung-lick and Dr Chung Chi-yung, Trevor has continually reminded himself to strive to become a pillar of society and to contribute to the community to the best of his ability.
HKSYU Seminar on Mental Health and Well-being
The Department of Counselling and Psychology at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) hosted the “Mental Health Day: The Healing Power of Chatting” seminar and workshops on 17 July 2026. Experts from education, social welfare, psychology, and sports gathered to explore approaches to mental health and stress relief, while equipping front-line educators with strategies to foster an inclusive campus environment. Ms Lee San-san, former Miss Hong Kong, was invited as the keynote speaker. Drawing on her personal battle with panic disorder, she shares how she overcame life’s darkest moments.
