
The P.E. Section Organizes a variety of Sports Activities in the New Academic Year
In this academic year, the P.E. Section, adhering to the idea of “Sport for All”, will organize different types of sports activities and competitions to let teachers and students enjoy the fun of sports together. In addition, the P.E. Section is also actively strengthening the training mode of each team in order to achieve good results in the new year’s inter-collegiate competitions.

The Department of Journalism and Communication Obtains More than HK$1.5 million Funding to Promote Knowledge Transfer
Two research projects “Ving Tsun – Martial Arts in Artificial Intelligence” and “Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage and IPMAN Ving Tsun”, both led by Dr. Lee Ka Man, Head of the Department of Journalism and Communication, were separately granted funding of HK$1.18 million from the Innovation and Technology Fund and HK$0.4 million from the Tin Ka Ping Foundation. The two projects have been conducted activities in July 2022, through the use of digital media and artificial intelligence technology, and the use of picture books to analyze the relationship between intangible cultural heritage and Chinese culture for primary and secondary school students progressively, thus promoting knowledge transfer.

The Hall Management Unit Held the Welcoming Night and the Autumn Carnival
The Hall Management Unit organized two major activities in September to give residents of both Complexes the opportunity to meet new friends, and lay the foundation for a harmonious dormitory atmosphere in the future, thus turning a new page for dormitory life together.

HKSYU’s new Multimedia Internship Scheme Advocates students’ creativity into Teaching

Dr. WONG Ka Ki, Assistant Professor and Associate Head (Programme) of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature was decorated with the Award for Young Artist (Art criticism) at the 16th Hong Kong Arts Development Awards
Dr. WONG Ka Ki, Assistant Professor and Associate Head (Programme) of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, has been engaged in the study of Hong Kong Literature and Modern and Contemporary Literature for many years, she has won the 42th Youth Literature Awards (Literature Criticism). Earlier she was decorated with the Award for Young Artist (Art criticism) at the 16th Hong Kong Arts Development Awards, she believes this award proves that Hong Kong literature criticism is still worth working on and hopes that more people can be motivated to participate in Hong Kong literature criticism.

HKSYU and IBM jointly popularize data research and promote digital humanities
On 30 August, Dr. Connie Yuen, Head of the Department of Applied Data Science, Director of iFREE GROUP Innovation and Research Centre, and Director of the Big Data Laboratory, attended the IBM Technology Day and shared how HKSYU actively develops digital humanities under the epidemic to ensure that the University remains competitive in the digital age.
